Steps to make the Town Plan

The Town Plan is an evolving document, that will change and adapt over time to reflect the changes needs of all of us.

In order to start this process, we have adopted a simple methodology of listen - measure - consider.

Step 1. Listen.

Since early 2010, the Town Plan team has been busy listening to your views and comments and trying to understand what it is you would really like about the town.

We have been listening in two ways:
  • Many groups have been contacted and their feedback recorded
  • A 'community wall' was set-up during the Farmer's Market to collect your feedback.

Step 2. Measure.

Based on your feedback, a questionnaire has been created. The questionnaire is structured based on your feedback and it is hoped that it will tell us more about what services you want in the town.

Currently it is planned to send this questionnaire out to all households in St Ives during November 2010. In addition, a copy will be added to the website so that visitors to the town can contribute, as well as copies in various shops.

Step 3. Consider.

Once we have all your feedback collected, the team will consider what you have identified and where you want the team to focus.
