Welcome to the St Ives Town Plan website![]() In 2010, St Ives celebrated the 900th anniversary of its charter, with a series of events around the town. During these 900 years the town has evolved, changed and adapted to match the needs of its towns people and visitors. The charter granted St Ives was for its market, and the town still has a flourishing market, expanded only recently to include the Farmer's Market. St Ives Town Council has set up a team to find out from residents and visitors how the town should develop in the future. This process involves asking people for their views, measuring the results and capturing this feedback in a document - the Town Plan. The Town Plan is intended to form a blueprint that will set out the vision of the town. However the publication of the Town Plan is not the end of the story, only the beginning. Once the Town Plan is published, a number of groups will be set up to look into the opportunities that have been identified. The plan was published and launched in Spring 2011. Following the publication a group of residents have formed to progress the actions identified in the report. This is your chance to help ensure that St Ives continues to adapt and change to suit local needs and has a successful future. Example of feedback from the Community Wall looking at Commerce |
